Types of Air Disc Brake Chambers

Disc brakes and drum brakes both use the same internal components. In addition, they share some of the same features and functions. These include the brake chamber and its pushrod. The air disc brake chamber is a horizontally mounted metal container which acts as the actuation point for the caliper.
There are several styles of brake chambers available. Each one has a different pushrod stroke length capacity. The length of the pushrod is determined by the pressure of the compressed air in the brake chamber. The pushrod must be able to retract completely before the force produced by the brake pedal is able to be released.
Some brakes have an external breather tube. This reduces the amount of liquid contaminants that can enter the service chamber and cause premature failure of the brake.
These brakes are designed to be used in extreme environments. They are built with an extended service life and are suitable for a wide range of applications.
They are designed with a patented Dual-Thread Release Bolt design. This makes the brakes easy to fit into tight areas. They are also designed for trouble-free service.
HOT chambers are a proven alternative to piston-type disc brakes. They feature a higher output performance, a smaller envelope size, and improved corrosion protection. They are also less expensive than piston chambers. The patented housing design, optional rod guide, and dust boot provide additional durability. They are available in a 65mm or 3" stroke, and come in both US and metric threads.
