How to maintain the vehicle brake system in winter

1. Check each gas line connector (including the connection between the main vehicle and the trailer)
With the arrival of winter, the lower the temperature, the harder the sealing ring or the cushion. After the wind and rain in summer, the sealing performance of the rubber ring is getting worse and worse, especially the pipe joint above the axle. The low temperature in winter will cause The joint of the sealing pipe shrinks, and the sealing performance is poor and the air leaks, so we must check the sealing of each joint of the gas path before we go out of the car in the morning.
2. Check the main car drying tank
Check the main vehicle dryer tank to ensure that the main vehicle air source is dry and free of moisture. Since the drying tank is an air filter, it loses its filtering effect on the residual moisture of the compressed air with the use of time. The compressed air does not achieve the purpose of drying, causing the water in the pipeline and the valve body to freeze, thus affecting the normal use of the brake.
3. The main vehicle and trailer regularly discharge water
In winter, the temperature is mostly below zero. At this time, the compressed gas is easy to produce water droplets or humid gas. The main car and trailer air storage tanks regularly discharge water. The regular water discharge in winter is shorter than the interval in summer, and it is required to discharge frequently. Standing water, make sure the brakes use dry gas. If the water is not released in time, the pressure of the wet gas inside the gas storage cylinder will enter the valve body, and when the temperature is lower than zero, the inside of the valve body will freeze. As a result, the piston in the valve body is stuck, and finally the brake fails.
Fourth, ABS system maintenance
There are multiple sensor connectors connected to the ABS. Its function is to sense signals for the braking system, so that the ABS will give certain commands at a specific speed of the vehicle to exert the best braking force and frequency. Therefore, whether the sensor joints are loose or not, to ensure the fixation requires inspection and maintenance. At the same time, the ABS ring gear in the brake drum should be removed and cleaned regularly to ensure that the sensor signal of the ring gear and the probe is good, and the joint is free of putty.
